Farewell Old Navy!
Today is my last day of working at Old Navy, San Francisco!! :( I had to prevent myself from sobbing into the INSANE array of home-made cakes, cheesy taco's and triple fried doughnuts that the Baby & Toddler team brought in for my leaving breakfast. Everyone's efforts have been SO MOVING! (my lovely desk neighbour Jenny has noticed my untamable addiction to Tootsie Roll lollies & has provided me with two HUGE bags of them for the flight home.)
I have had easily one of the best times of my life living here in San Francisco and working at Old Navy, so owe everyone at the company a huge THANK-YOU for having me... I really don't want to leave!!!!
Pictured above is of a card that I made for everyone in the team. Each season's colour palette at Old Navy is inspired by various themes, and everyone in Baby & Toddler agree that the Black & White Colour Story is a favourite... this explains my reason behind the card!

Old Navy Toddler Boys
Part of my internship at Old Navy has involved designing a Family Message as part of a group project! This is one of the line-ups I produced towards our concept of 'Hoods in the Woods'.

My First Adobe Illustrator Graphic!
Throughout my job as an illustrator, I've been in many fortunate positions where I send over the hand-drawn illustration and it's done! While I've been working for Old Navy, I've been learning how to produce graphics for production... which involves a hell of a lot more time staring at a screen! After having someone in my team patiently teaching me the zillion and one "⌘" shortcuts on a Mac, I produced my first illustration completely coloured on Adobe Illustrator! Can you see the blood and sweat gone into this? Probably not...

Hobo Studies
Last Saturday was a bit of a low start... we had full intention on spending the day in Haight-Ashbury, but the Friday night had defeated us. Instead, we collapsed on a small patch of grass in Union Square outside Macy's. What a cop out. While Bethany managed to nap through the pungent smell of a hobo next to us, I decided to draw him in his rugged attire. We all agreed that considering looking cool was probably not a hobo's priority, this one managed to pull it off. The only fault was his finger nails, but I guess things like that can't be helped.

Are We Addicted to Maccy D's??
Every Saturday after the night before (and now a few days in between) we find ourselves in the same food spot... there's a table under the Golden Arches with our names written on it. Of all the fantastic places we could go and eat and San Francisco, we're sucked in before we even reach 3rd Street. The reason being we're all HOOKED!!! Get me my choc milkshake & fries now.

Dolores Park on a Sunday
Although you're never too far from water in San Francisco, the city doesn't compete for beaches in California (what it lacks in sand, it makes up for in everything else) So the locals who fall into one of the 'H' categories: Hipster, Hobos, Hippies, and Homo's (or "legal aliens"like ourselves) go on a pilgrimage to Dolores Park at the weekend. Located in the Mission District, it's basically a 7 mile stretch of green grass which reminds me of that lumpy landscape on Teletubbies, except it has a huge marijuana cloud over it. On a bright, sunny day it's the perfect place to grab a couple of tins.. (we chose 'Four Loco', an unforgiving 12 % Vol beer/energy drink hybrid) and chill out on the mountainous stretch of grass to watch the crowds go by. This is a drawing I did on our first visit (on our second I only managed to draw one tree cos I'd already half-way drunk my can of 'Loco') and you can see some of Mission's buildings in the background. Bethany (the one with purple hair) is sitting in the foreground!

Kate's Birthday Meal
For those of you that know Kate, you'll realize that her birthday was actually two weeks ago... to celebrate we went to Fog City Diner for a slap-up meal for 7! It was a great night, and the food was amazing. I didn't feel as morbidly full as I'd mentally prepared myself for though. Next time I hope I won't wimp out from getting a MASSIVE choc desert with all the trimmings and a malt milkshake to wash it down.
